We awaken to the world
We can’t trust gods or teachers or generals
They prepare us for a world that’s long since past
So lost, so corrupt, their lies pervade our truths

You’ve bit the hand from which we feed
Now we’re hungry every day
When your ship docks
Behold the rocks it’s crashed against

Where is the devotion you had pledged?
I was dead on arrival
Now we’re lashing out
But all our questions have no answers

As restless demons start to stir
I’m awakened to the truth
You may suffer without protest
